Better wireless support Linux kernel upgrade 2.6.117

The Linux kernel has been upgraded again recently, with the latest version 2.6.17. The new kernel is called "crazed Snow-Weasel" and offers a host of new features including: support for Sun's Niagara processor, support for Broadcom's 43xx series of wireless cards, support for Cisco's LEAP wireless authentication protocol, and a new name called "New" ;splice” I/O mechanism (accelerating memory response through random kernel buffering), many performance improvements, etc.

A new software MAC layer has been added to the wireless stack of the new kernel to work with the 802.11 layer built into Linux to provide driver support for Broadcom wireless cards.

This update significantly improves the ease of use of Linux in the notebook environment and is more in line with the needs of mobile workers and IT managers.
