Linux streaming media Helix Server detailed installation and configuration

Helix.server, (also known as REAL server) open source version, RM media streaming server, no restrictions on the version. Support RTSP protocol, support RM, MP3 and other formats, even for commercial use, can also cope. You can download it here.

2. Installation

Unzip: #tar -zxvf Helix_DNA_Server_10.1.tar.gz

Get the directory under the current path Helix_DNA_Server_10.1

#cd Helix_DNA_Server_10.1

There are two files, the installation command is as follows:

#./servinst_plus_linux-2.2-libc6-i586-server.bin

The following is the installation process:

Directory: [The system will give a default installation path, the current directory]: You can enter the specified installation path here. Or enter the default path;

Username[]: Enter the administrator login name

Password: Administrator password, enter and enter again;

At the beginning of [System default port] (such as port[7070], port[554]), you can use the default port all the way. But you need to pay attention to: port [80], you better change it to 8080 or other unused port number, because the default port of APACHE is 80, otherwise it will conflict with your APACHE port.

port[80] After the carriage return, such as port [29902], this is the port number of your administrator login server, you must remember, use later.

Next, give the list of parameters you set above:

Installation is complete.

3. Start the server

Enter the Bin folder of the installation directory

#cd Bin

Start the server

#./hlxserverplus ../hlxserverplus.cfg

The following hlxserverplus.cfg is your server configuration file.

If there is no prompt error, you can enter the following operation.

4. Server Management Configuration

Start Mozilla in the address bar:

Your server IP: The administrator login port number you want to remember /admin/index.html

1> ip address binding

Server Setup- --->IP Binding -----> Click the "+" sign to the right of IP Address, enter the IP address of the server to be bound under Edit IP Address----->Apply----> ;Pending Changes

2>New Mount Point

Modify Default Border Root Directory

Server Setup---->Mount Points-----> Click on Helix Content---> to change the contents of Base Path to the full path of your movie file, for example, my /mnt/dos/vod---->Apply-----> Pending Changes

Client Access: rtsp://server ip/001.rm For example: rtsp://192.168.0.200/001.rm

001.rm is your movie file name Can use Chinese name.

Creating a new mount point

Edit Description The following is a description of the mount point, which can be entered casually.

Mount Point Your mount point, the client will access it later, such as: /film/

The contents of Base Path are modified to the full path of your movie file, such as me. /mnt/dos/vod---->Apply----->Pending Changes

Client Access: rtsp://server ip/film/001.rm For example: rtsp: //192.168.0.200/film/001.rm

After setting the restart server. It is best to close mozilla and log in again to see if the settings have taken effect. Otherwise, re-operate!
