Windows startup speed is slow and can't let go of the reasons

It is said that the speed of shutdown and boot is one of the problems that many users care about. Anyone wants to enter the system without waiting, so there are so many ways to optimize the system. But in fact, should we figure out before the optimization, what are the reasons for dragging the Windows system startup speed?

1.USB hard disk and scanner and other devices

If the computer is installed with a scan Devices such as instruments, or USB hard drives have been connected at startup, so try disconnecting them first to see if the boot speed has changed. Generally speaking, because the USB interface is slow, the corresponding device will have a significant impact on the startup speed of the computer. You should try to connect the USB device after booting. If you do not have a USB device, it is recommended to turn off the USB function directly in the BIOS setup.

Tip: Since Windows will detect each drive (including the optical drive) when it starts up, if the CD is placed in the CD-ROM drive, it will also extend the startup time of the computer.

2. Disconnect unused network drives

In order to eliminate or reduce the number of network connections that Windows must re-establish, it is recommended to disconnect some network drives that do not need to be used, that is, enter “ My computer & rdquo;, right click on the network drive that has been mapped, select “ disconnect & rdquo;

3.File and printer sharing

Some computers with Windows XP Professional will also have a very slow startup problem, even reaching 1 minute and 40 seconds! The system seems to be dead. After logging in to the system, the desktop does not appear, and the computer just stops responding, and it can be used normally after 1 minute. This is because after using the Bootvis.exe program, the Mrxsmb.dll file adds 67 seconds to the computer startup!

To solve this problem, just stop sharing the folder and printer: Select &ldquo Start → set → network and dial-up connection, right-click "local connection", select "property", cancel in the open window "This connection uses the following selected components" “Microsoft Network File and Printer Sharing> in front of the checkbox, restart the computer.

Tip: Microsoft has upgraded the Bootvis.exe file several times, and it does help a lot of Windows XP startup speed.

4. Annoying network card

If the settings are not correct, the network card will obviously affect the system startup speed. If your computer does not need a network card, simply unplug the network card to avoid affecting the system startup speed.

If your computer is connected to a LAN, after installing the NIC driver, the system will automatically obtain the IP address through DHCP by default, but most companies have no DHCP server on the LAN, so if the user sets Into the “automatically obtain the IP address”, the system will continuously search the network for the DHCP server when it starts up, until the IP address or timeout is obtained, which naturally affects the startup time. Therefore, the LAN user should specify the fixed IP for the computer. address.

5. There are too many hard disk partitions.

If your Windows 2000 is not upgraded to SP3 or SP4 and you have too many partitions defined, it will make the startup very long, even Hang up. Therefore, it is recommended to upgrade the latest SP4, and it is best not to divide too many areas for the hard disk. Because Windows must load each partition at startup, as the number of partitions increases, the total amount of time to complete this operation will continue to grow.
