The magic of the blank key in Windows 7

In Windows 7, when the user presses F8, the system restore function table will appear. At the same time, there will be an F10 button for the user to open the startup parameter editor. However, the parameter manager is only temporary, and more options rely on msconfig.

This method can also be used on the installation CD of Vista or Server 2008. Just when the system prompts “Press any key to boot from CD/DVD”, tap 2 and 3 to open the blank key. At this time, the Windows Boot Manager will appear again, and the Windows installation options will also appear in the list.

Vista has slightly different startup options than Windows XP. In XP, the user must start the option by pressing F8. In Vista, this method is still valid, but at the same time, the user can achieve the same effect by pressing the blank button. In addition, as the successor to Vista, Windows 7 will inherit this tradition. After BiOS is loaded, you can call the Windows Boot Manager by tapping the blank button.

In addition to pressing F8 in Windows Vista or Windows Server 2008, there are other ways to open boot options. The next time you reboot, you can try to press the blank button before the Windows splash screen appears after BiOS is loaded. If you just pressed the blank button at that time, the Windows Boot Manager will appear. At this point, the user can select the OS arbitrarily, or press F8 to open the restore menu and so on.
