Win8 installation USB3.0 and USB device skills

A USB (Universal Serial Bus) device is one of the easiest devices to connect to a computer. You can connect to a wide variety of devices such as keyboards, printers and external drives. Reminder Some devices may use USB 3.0. This type of connection can run up to 10 times faster than USB 2.0 because it uses a new technology called SuperSpeed. You can use one of the following symbols to identify the cable and port that can connect to your USB device.

If you have a USB 3.0 device installed, you may have a blue cable for this device. You may also see a blue label in the connector on one end of the cable and in the port on your computer or USB hub. Regardless of the color of the cable and port, there will be a USB 3.0 symbol on all USB 3.0 cables and ports.

Connecting USB device
If your USB device comes with instructions, please use this information To install this device. Otherwise, please follow the general instructions below.
Steps for installing a USB device
1. If your device has a power cord, insert it.
2. Connect the device to your computer using a separate cable or cord attached to the device.
Ensure that you have a USB 3.0 port for your USB 3.0 device. If you don't have a USB 3.0 port, you can use the most convenient available port.
3. Turn on your device and wait for Windows to find and install the appropriate driver.
4. After the installation is complete, check the information that came with the device to see if you need to install additional software.
Note: If an earlier USB device is not working properly when it is plugged into a USB 3.0 port, try connecting it to a USB 2.0 port.
Disconnect USB devices
Most USB devices can be unplugged directly, such as a keyboard or mouse. However, before you unplug a storage device (such as a USB drive), make sure you have saved the file to the drive before you can remove it. We also recommend that you eject the drive to ensure that all activity on the drive is complete.
Steps to eject the drive
1. Swipe in from the right edge of the screen, click “Set”, then click “Change PC Settings”.
(If using the mouse, point to the upper right corner of the screen, then move the pointer down, click “Set”, then click “Change PC Settings 
2. Click or click “Device”.
3. Click or click the device you want to pop up, “delete” icon and “delete”.
