Microsoft's official blog talks about the improvement of Windows 8 installation experience

The Windows8 official blog published a blog post about improving the Windows installation experience, which talked about some interesting topics, such as simplifying the installation process, new web installation methods, and Fully automatic installation, etc.

For any version of Windows, the installation process is always one of the focuses. For Windows 8, Microsoft's goal is to continue to enhance reliability while also improving the installation experience and performance.

In other words, Win8 must be stable enough to ensure speed and ease of use. From the current installation speed comparison, Windows7 completes the installation process in about 20 minutes, and the Windows8 development preview can be completed in about 10 minutes (I don't know if the official version installation time is also the same).

But one thing you may have noticed is that the Win8 preview version requires more user steps than Win7 during installation.

In this blog post, the following points are worthy of attention:

Interactive installation: This is where Win8 changes. One. For Microsoft, the user base can be roughly divided into two types, one is users who have no (installation) experience at all, they only need to upgrade the old system to the latest version as easily as possible; the other is experienced users, they A new installation will be adopted and it is desirable to manually control each installation.

Therefore, Windows 8 will provide two different installation methods, one is the streamlined installation process guided by the Web or Setup program; the other is through a customized DVD disc/mirror Or a USB storage device for advanced installation.

In addition to traditional boxed DVD products, Microsoft is preparing to offer a new online installation mode. For users who just want to upgrade the system quickly, they no longer need to download the files themselves and then hang them. Load ISO, then manually install, the new Windows 8 installation will automatically do this.
