Network and sharing center is the most important graphical operation interface of Windows operating system for network configuration and application. The network and sharing center of Windows8 and Win7 network and sharing center have changed greatly. Deleted content that is not commonly used by users, making user operations easier and faster.
First, open the Windows8 network and sharing center
l Open in the system tray
Right click on the network icon on the lower right side of the traditional desktop, click "Open Network and Sharing Center".
It should be noted that the network icons in the figure are icons connected to the wireless network mode. According to the different network connection methods, there are several different network icon styles such as computer-like network icons. You can try more.
l Open the Network and Sharing Center in the Control Panel
Step 1: Open the Control Panel. The previous section describes how many control panels are opened. Here is just one, use the shortcut Win+X, and then click on the Control Panel. Step 2: In the Control Panel, click Network and Internet.
Step 3: Click on "Network and Sharing Center".
Second, Network and Sharing Center Introduction
Windows8 Network and Sharing Center Interface Compared to Windows7 Network and Sharing Center, Windows 8 Network and Sharing Center has reduced "connection" in "Change Network Settings" Go to the network" and "Set up shared files". "Connect to the network" is merged into "Set up a new connection or network", "Set up shared files" is concentrated in the sharing of folder properties, and the appearance looks more concise.
The left sidebar of the Network and Sharing Center is:
l Control Panel Home: You can go directly to the Control Panel home page
l Change Adapter Settings: All you can install on your computer can connect to the Internet , LAN, and other network devices are configured;
l change advanced sharing settings: you can set permissions settings for different network users.
lInternet option: You can set the Internet properties of IE10.
lWindows Firewall: You can set up Windows 8 network firewall.
l Family Group: You can create and change family group settings).
The right side of the Network and Sharing Center is:
lView Active Network: List all current networks that are connected to the Internet, LAN, and provide attribute description and status check on the network, and whether the network can join the home. Group network.
l Change network settings: You can add, delete, set network connections, set up routers, access points, and troubleshoot when encountering network problems.
Third, the network hardware properties settings
In the network and sharing center, click "change adapter settings" in the left sidebar, open the network connection window, all computers can connect to the Internet, LAN and other network equipment Both appear in the list.
Right-click on a network device and click on Properties to open the properties of this device. There are two labels "network" and "share". Here we can manually set the Mac, IP, DNS, etc. of this device.
The following details how we can modify and optimize the device properties.
1. Modify the IP and DNS of the network device.
Step 1: In the "Networks" tab, "This connection uses the following items", double-click "Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IPv4)", or select this option and click "Properties".
Second Step: Windows 8 defaults to "Automatically Obtain IP Address" and "Automatically Obtain DNS Server Address". We only need to change "Use the following IP address" and "Use the following DNS server address". Then enter the contents to be modified in the following "IP Address", "Subnet Mask", "Default Network Management", "Preferred DNS Server", "Alternate DNS Server", and finally click "OK".
Tip: The subnet mask of the home LAN is generally 255.255.255.0, Windows 8 will be filled in automatically, and the subnet mask belongs to the more professional network communication content, so it will not be introduced. The default gateway can be left blank and not filled in. Windows 8 will automatically search the gateway server IP in the network. The preferred DNS server and the alternate DNS server can also be left blank without writing, and Windows 8 will automatically match the gateway's DNS server. Another thing to note is that if the router (gateway) connected to the computer has DHCP enabled, if the user specifies the IP address, the network connection will not work properly because the IP address assigned to the computer by the router may be the IP address set by the user. Not the same, causing conflicts.
l Modify IP and DNS Advanced
Click the "Advanced" button to enter "Advanced TCP/IP Settings". In "IP Settings", you can set multiple IP addresses, subnet masks, and default gateways for network devices. Windows 8 will automatically match each one most appropriately.
In the "DNS" tab, you can also set up multiple DNS servers and sort the DNS servers.
In the "WINS" tab, you can set the mapping between host names and IP addresses in the LAN. This feature is not used by home users and will not be described in detail here.
2. Modifying the Mac address
In the "Use when connecting" tab of the "Network" tab, click the "Configure" button to open the drive properties of the network device. Then click on "Advanced Tab", select "Network Address" in the attribute list, then select "Value" on the right side, fill in the box with a Mac address without "-", such as "010B0C75ECCD", and finally click " Ok".
3.Installing and Uninstalling Network Protocols
Some network applications and games require some network protocols that Windows 8 does not install by default (such as Red Alert 2 LAN Battle requires the outdated network protocol IPX/SPX). We need to install it manually. Step 1: Click the “Install” button in the “Network” tab to open the “Select Network Function Type”, select “Protocol” and click the “Add” button.
Step 2: If there is a network protocol in the list that you want to install, select it and click "OK". If not, click "Install from Disk" and select the folder location of the network protocol, then the installed network protocol will be displayed in the list, then click "OK".
If you do not need some network protocols, select the network protocol you want to uninstall in the "This connection uses the following items" tab of the "Network" tab, click "Uninstall".
