Looking for Chinese-American keyboard

in Windows 8 As we all know, Win8 has strictly classified the input method. Chinese input methods can only be added to Chinese input methods, such as Microsoft Pinyin (see the figure below).

But in the old days of Win7 and XP, Chinese input method can add English.

So in the Chinese input method, the "Chinese-American keyboard" is masked by default. Some old users may be used to switching the input method with ctrl+shift, and now feel very uncomfortable.

Then we can retrieve the Chinese American keyboard.

1. Open CMD, type regedit to open the registry editor;

2. Expand HKEY_CURRENT_USER/Keyboard Layout/Substitutes, create a new "string value" with the name 00000804, value 00000409;

3. Expand HKEY_CURRENT_USER/Keyboard Layout/Preload, create a new "string value", name is 1, the value is 00000804 (if "1" already exists, update the value directly);

After these are done, then go and see if the "Chinese-American keyboard" is back in the "language options".
