How Win8 builds an FTP server

FTP (File Transfer Protocol) is a protocol for transferring files between two computers on a TCP/IP network, so that files can be shared between hosts. There are a lot of software that can do this now, but the IIS that comes with the Windows 8 system can help you build an FTP server. Let me tell you the detailed steps below.

Step 1: First open “Search” in the start screen, enter “Control Panel” and open

Step 2: In In the control panel window, find "Programs", click

Step 3: In the "Programs" window that opens, find "Enable or disable windows function", click Open, as shown below Show:

Step 4: Find “Internet Information Service” in “windows function” and select “FTP Service”, “FTP Extension” and “IIS Management Control”. In front of the checkbox, click “OK”

Step 5: After the system is automatically configured, enter “ld”;IIS” in the search for the start screen, and then click to open “IIS Manager” & rdquo;

Step 6: After opening “IIS Manager”, right click on “<quo;Website” in the left column to open “Add FTP Site"

Step 7 : Then follow the prompts to fill in the site information

Step 8: Click “Next” to set the “Binding and SSL Settings” in the following figure. At the “IP address”, you can use the intranet IP or the external IP, the visitor naturally It is also determined according to your IP settings.

Step 9: Click “Next”, set “Authentication and Authorization Information

Notes

It is recommended to turn off the firewall when starting your FTP server.
