Let Win8 be like Win7

If you are not used to Windows 8? Downgrading to Windows 7 is of course a solution, but it seems a bit troublesome. Below we recommend a way to make Windows 8 look and use the same as Windows 7, users who miss Windows 7 may wish to try.

Compared to Windows 7, Microsoft removed the Start menu and Aero theme in Windows 8 and added the right sidebar. If you don't like it, you can make Windows 8 the same as Windows 7 by following the steps below.

Step 1: Remove the Start Screen and Retrieve the Start Menu

There is no doubt that the biggest difference between Windows 8 and Windows 7 is the start interface consisting of dynamic tiles in Windows 8. If you're used to the classic Start menu in Windows 7, you can get a familiar feel through a software called Start8. Start8 is a paid software, but it is also the software that is the perfect way to restore the start menu so far.

1. Download and install Start8. Start provides users with a 30-day free trial period, which costs $4.99 (approximately RMB 31) after the trial period to continue.

2. Select the "Style” option on the left and select “Windows 7 Theme” in the theme selection at the bottom right.

3. Uncheck "Disable Translucency".

4. Select the “Desktop” option on the left.

5. Check “Disable all Windows 8 hot corners”.

6. Check "Automatically go to the Desktop when I sign in", which will skip the start screen and go directly to the desktop when the user logs in.

7. Uncheck "Disable Taskbar Translucency".

8. Select the “Control” option on the left.

9. Uncheck "Show the Windows 8 menu when I press the right windows key", after turning off this feature, the user will not return to the start screen if they accidentally click the right button.

10. Close the Start8 settings window.

11. Click Start8 to view all the programs in Windows 8.

12. Select the program you want to fix in Start8, right click and select “Pin to Start menu(Start8)”.
