Win2003 can not play FLV file solution

  
                

Since the win2003 system does not have the mime-type type of .FLV, win2003 does not support FLV files by default, so it is very normal to encounter FLV files in win2003 system. If you need to play FLV in win2003 system. If you have a file, you can set it yourself.

Solution:

1. In 2003 server, find open IIS Manager.

2. Expand the local server name, right-click and select Properties. On the Internet Information Services tab, click the Edit button under the computer MIME mapping at the bottom.

3. Click the "new type" button, add the extension to ”.FLV”, add the content type (MIME) to “flv-application/octet-stream”

4. Click OK

5. Restart the www service.

Although adobe provides this solution to work with .FLV, there are still many unexpected results, and there are still many .FLVs that don't work. Here's a workaround: The first few steps are the same.

1. On the 2003 server, find the IIS Manager.

2. Expand the local server name, right-click and select Properties, and click the Edit button under the bottom computer MIME mapping on the Internet Information Services tab.

3. Click the "new type" button, add the extension to ”.FLV”, add the content type (MIME) to "video/x-flv"

4. Click OK

In the win2003 system, the default output FLV format is not specified, so the FLV file cannot be accessed via HTTP after uploading, and it cannot be played. Through the solution described above, the user can initially set up and enable win2003 to support the playback of FLV files.
