win.ini, is a basic system configuration file of Windows system, is an indispensable file for system configuration. Below, I'll show you some specific steps to solve the problem with the Win.ini file:

Click Start, click Run, type msconfig in the Open box, and then click OK.

Click the WIN.INI tab.

Make a note of all items that are not selected. You may need to expand some items (such as [OLFax Ports]) to determine if there are any children that are not selected.

Important: Do not skip this step. You will need this information later.

Click Disable All, click OK, and then restart your computer.

Click Start, click Run, type msconfig in the Open box, and then click OK.

Click the WIN.INI tab.

Expand all the items in the list, click the checkbox for an item to open it, and then click OK.

Restart your computer to see if this issue occurs.

Repeat steps 5 through 8 for each item until the problem occurs.

When the problem occurs, you can conclude that the last item opened is the cause of the problem. Make a note of the item and go to step 10.

Click Enable All, click the checkbox for the item in question to clear it; click the checkbox for any other item you noted in step 3 to clear it, single Click OK and restart your computer.

As an alternative, you can turn off (unchecked) the item in question. If possible, contact the manufacturer of the item in question for further assistance.

Note: By grouping test items, you may be able to determine which Win.ini item is causing the problem more quickly. Divide these items into two groups, select the check box for the first group, and clear the check box for the second group. Restart your computer and test if this issue occurs. If the problem occurs, the service in question is in the group with the check box selected. If the issue does not occur, the service in question is in the group with the check box cleared. Repeat this process for the problematic group until you find the problematic Win.ini entry.
