How to add programs and Windows components in Windows Server 2003

“Add or Remove Programs> tool will help you manage the programs on your computer. With this tool, you can add new programs or change and delete existing ones. You can also use the "Add or Remove Programs> tools to add Windows
Server 2003 components that you did not install at the time of initial installation (for example, <quo;networking services”). How to install Windows components Log in to the computer as a member of the “Administrator” or “Administrator” group. Click Start, point to Control Panel, and select “Add or Remove Programs”. Click “Add/Remove Windows Components”. The following components will appear on the “Windows Components” page of the “Windows Components Wizard” page. The following components are listed in the component list (the Windows components shown in this list may vary depending on which version of Windows Server 2003 you are running) : Attachments and Tools Certificate Services Fax Service Indexing Service Internet Explorer Internet Information Services (IIS) Management and Monitoring Tools Message Queuing Networking Services Other Network Files and Print Services POP3 Services Remote Installation Services Remote Storage Terminal Server Terminal Server Authorization UDDI Services Update Root Directory Certificates Windows Media Services To add a component, click the appropriate checkbox to select it. To remove a component, click the corresponding checkbox to clear it. Note: A check box with a shading indicates that only a portion of the component can be installed. To view the contents of a component, click the component and then click Details. Click the check box next to the subcomponent you want to add, select it, then click OK. Note: If the details button (grayed out) is not available, the component has no subcomponents associated with it. Click Next. Follow the instructions in the "Windows Components Wizard" Click Close to close the Add/Remove Programs dialog box. Note: Configuration is required before using certain Windows components. If one or more of these components are installed, but they are not configured, clicking on “Add/Remove Windows Components> will display a list of components that must be configured. To configure the component, click Configure and follow the instructions on the screen xx. To add a new component, click on the component and follow the instructions in the “Windows Components Wizard” to do xx. Installation example of the DHCP service Log in to the computer as a member of the "Administrator" or "Administrator" group. Click Start, point to Control Panel, and then click “Add or Remove Programs”. Click Add/Remove Windows Components. In the list of components, click the networking service (but do not select or clear the check box), and then click Details. Click the "Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol (DHCP)> checkbox to select it (if it is not selected), then click OK. Click Next. When prompted, insert the Windows Server 2003 CD-ROM into your computer's CD-ROM or DVD-ROM drive. The installer will copy the DHCP server and tool files to your computer. When the installation is complete, click Finish to complete the “Windows Components Wizard”” page. Click Close to close the Add/Remove Programs dialog box. How to install the program To install the program, please follow the steps below xx (if appropriate for your situation). From the CD-ROM or floppy disk installer Log in to the computer as a member of the "Administrator" or "Administrator" group. Click Start, point to Control Panel, and then click “Add or Remove Programs”. Click Add New Program. Click on the <quo;CD or floppy disk”. Insert the floppy disk into your computer's floppy drive, or insert the CD-ROM into your computer's CD-ROM or DVD-ROM drive and click Next. Follow the instructions displayed on the screen to install xx. Click Close to close the Add/Remove Programs dialog box. Note: When using the “Add/Remove Programs” tool, you can only install programs written for WindowsOS
. From the network installer Log in to the computer as a member of the “Administrator” or “Administrator” group. Ways to install the program; the program file has been deleted or has been corrupted; or, you have tried to use the program features that were not installed during the installation. If the program is installed from a CD-ROM, or if you are no longer connected to the network, the Windows Installer may prompt you to insert the CD into the CD-ROM or DVD-ROM drive. When the Windows Installer finishes, the program or feature you are trying to use will start.
