How to add personalized sound effects to Win10/Win8.1/Win7 screenshot operation?

One of the commonly used screenshot methods in Windows is to press the PrintScreen key or Alt + PrintScreen key combination on the keyboard, the former is to intercept the whole Screen, the latter is to intercept the current active window, but there is no prompt for these two operations. For friends who often need screenshots, it may be necessary to get feedback from the system after pressing the shortcut, and adding sound effects is a good idea.

Fortunately, Microsoft provides such a function in the system, but needs to modify the registry to achieve. The specific method can be referred to as follows:

Note: This method needs to modify the registry. It is recommended to create a restore point for your system before the operation, so as to restore it when an error occurs. This method is applicable to Win7, Win8.1, Win10, Vista and other systems.

1, first download the registry and sound files (click here to download);

2, unzip after downloading, double-click the add screenshot sound.reg to import the relevant registry entries;

3, press Win+R to open the run, enter the following character Enter to open the sound settings window: rundll32.exe shell32.dll, Control_RunDLL mmsys.cpl, 2

4, in the open In the window you will see the “Program Event” project named SnapShot. Select the item, click “Browse” in the bottom, then select the shot.wav file in the archive and click OK.

After pressing PrintScreen or Alt + PrintScreen, test it to see if there is a prompt for taking pictures. To avoid accidental deletion of sound files, it is recommended that you save the shot.wav file to the C:\\Windows\\Media directory. You can pick some of your favorite personality sounds to replace, but note that the file format must be wav.

If you want to cancel this sound, just double-click the remove screenshot sound.reg in the zip file to import the registry key, and then delete the sound file.
