How to open the Group Policy Editor

Step 1: Click Run in the Windows Start menu.

Step 2: Enter “gpedit.msc” in the open run window and confirm, you can open the group policy of the computer system.



Where is the group policy file?

In fact, we use the start run command to open the group policy editing method, which is to call the gpedit.msc program in the Windows\\system32 directory of the system. The file is open.

Step 1: Find my computer in the Start menu and click on it.


Step 2: Open the <quo;system disk:\\WINDOWS\\system32” directory in the open My Computer.

This note: The system disk is usually C disk.

Step 3: Locate the gpedit.msc program file in the open system32 directory and double-click it to open the Group Policy Editor.


This tip: Because there are many files in the system32 directory, some users may not find this file patiently. You can directly search for the group file name of the group policy.
How to do group policy can not be opened

Generally speaking, group policy can be opened by starting the run command. If the group policy is not open, then the group policy file may be damaged.

Workaround: According to the "Where is the Group Policy File", find this file in the system disk, copy this file in the same version system, and overwrite this system in your own system. File, then the computer can be restarted.

Step 3: In the Open System Properties window, click the Environment Variables button under the Advanced tab.

Note: This variable value is the default variable value for Windows XP. If you need other systems, you can copy it to your own computer and save it to your own version of the system.

Step 7: Then go back all the way.

Step 8: After completing the system variable setting, run gpedit.msc again to open the group policy editor without this failure.
