Developers can silently run traditional desktop application installation packages (MSI or exe) through the converter, and then get an AppX installation package that can be deployed on the Win10 desktop system via the PowerShell command Add-AppXPackage. The converter runs the desktop application installation package in an environment that is independent of the current system. This separate environment is provided by the downloaded wim image. During the operation, the converter monitors the installation package for the registry and file system read and write operations, and finally generates an AppX installation package, and can call a part of the WinRT API.
