Computer Shop News: Win10 Consumer Preview (Build 9926) released. Compared to the previous technology preview, the 9926 has made a lot of changes in the details, especially the start menu is more obvious. But behind these big changes, some details are changing quietly. The next small series will give you a summary, take a look at the details in this version, we have not noticed.

1. Background task underline

Background task uses a new logo in this version, the previous icon reflection becomes underlined . Although the change is not big, but the visual impact is still quite strong, the overall look is more refreshing.

2. The keyboard light is on.

The keyboard light that has been there before is not bright, in 9926 Finally got it. The new version of the keyboard light can already work normally. The actual test has not found any special problems. The netizens who are entangled in the problem can at least not worry about it.

3. The menu changes to full screen

The new start menu makes a lot of adjustments, but the author is more optimistic about its one-button full-screen design. Simply put, when you need a full-screen menu, you can easily switch with one click by clicking the button in the upper right corner. Compared to the old version, the design was manually opened by the “Properties” panel, and this change was obviously a lot less. Of course, this is currently aimed at desktop users, and the tablet will automatically open the full-screen menu.

4. Window control keys More suitable for touch

Build 9926 maximizes, minimizes, and closes the three keys significantly less than before, which is obviously an adjustment made for the touch user. Just don't understand why these three keys are so close to each other? Bug, let Microsoft answer it yourself!

5. The search bar change button

9926 is open “ Xiaona&rdquo The module, which comes with a search bar fixed to the left of the taskbar. However, small screen users may not like it very much, the main reason is that the gadget is too space-consuming. In fact, a good solution is to right-click on the blank space of the taskbar and select “&search→ only the search icon”. After confirming, the search bar will be automatically reduced to the search button, which saves space and does not affect the normal use of Xiaona.

2 Uncovering Win10 update: new icon new calculator

6. Icon change Obviously

Build 9926 has changed dramatically on icons, and new icons have been replaced in many places such as folders and computers. Compared to the old version, the new version of the icon has a flat design, and the color usage is more jumping. At the same time, these new icons support ultra-high resolution of up to 768x768 (the current Windows version icon has a maximum resolution of only 256x256), which is obviously ready for the popularity of 4K/8K screens in the future.

Of course, there are still many controversies about the style of new icons. At least people don’t like it very much. There is always a feeling of dreaming back to 1995, and it is not even as good as some icons provided by beautification software. In short, if Microsoft wants to launch them as an official version? 7.Modern replaces the original calculator

The traditional window version  calculator" is no longer seen in Build 9926, replaced by a new Modern version of the calculator. Of course, this version is not the old version of the year, but a redesigned version for Win10.

UI, the new version from color matching to size are more suitable for touch screen users, the function is also greatly enhanced than the old version, The addition of the vertical scientific calculator is a bright spot. And because there is a modern windowing, even the desktop users will not feel too much discomfort, from my personal use, desktop users should be completely acceptable. Of course, this stuff should support gravity sensing. When tilting the device, it will automatically change to another style. However, since the author is using a PC, this is temporarily impossible to try.

8. Larger task preview image

9926 still uses Alt+Tab as the task switch button, but Compared to the old version, the new version of the thumbnail size is larger, and it is easier to see the contents inside. Regardless of the aesthetics, this change is clearly a compromise for high-resolution (non-flat) users. Obviously Microsoft's consideration is indeed much more than ours.

9. One-click tablet mode

For tablets with 9926 installed, the system will open by default. The start screen (full screen), the Modern application will also automatically expand in full screen mode. However, if it is a desktop PC, it will still be matched in the form of start menu + window. The direct effect behind this is the so-called Continuum mode.

However, if the desktop user is more interested in full-screen mode (such as Win8 old users), then the tablet mode can be manually turned on by one-click function. To do this, open the notification panel in the bottom right corner and click on “Tablet mode” below. Of course, this option is also available in the control panel, but it is more convenient to enter from here.

10. Application smart update

Win10 update becomes smart, mainly in two On the one hand, all modern applications support automatic updates. Second, Windows no longer asks you to restart now or restart after 10 minutes. The new version has an option in the update panel that allows the system to automatically select a time period that is not usually used. Of course, the restart time is reserved, and can be manually modified by the user if it is not suitable. Supports up to 6 days of restart time, and the time is exactly minutes and seconds.

13. Charm in another sense

Many people think that Win10 notification center However, there are some message boards that notify the content, and will only be opened when the notification is viewed. But in fact, there are several very useful small buttons hidden under the notification panel of 9926. For example, we have just mentioned "Plate mode", and "Show settings", "Connect devices", "Control panel", "Settings", "Settings", "Settings for VPN" & rdquo ;, & ldquo; WIFI settings & rdquo; and other common modules.

14.DirectX 12

Build 9926 introduces DirectX 12 for the first time. Support, now open the search box and enter DXdiag to view the specific DX version from the DirectX version number. From the feedback of the major hardware manufacturers, 14 mainstream graphics cards for the whole year and even the end of 13 can basically support DX12, but depending on the graphics card grade, there will be support between different graphics cards. 15. Alarm clock revision

9926 has been redesigned with the previous "Alarms" application, and like the calculator, the new alarm clock is also based on Modern design. But the biggest change is not here, but the five functions of the clock, world clock, alarm clock, timer, and stopwatch are combined for the first time. Of course, this is not really Microsoft's first creation. A few years ago, Android had a lot of similar designs.

Overall, the new 9926 is still a very flattering one. Versions, especially the addition of some details, let us often find some interesting points in the test. Of course, due to the huge changes in this version, there are still some problems in many places. The typical ones are that the new PIN cannot be logged in, the video progress bar must be displayed in full screen, the task bar is set to the right, and the notification icon disappears. But overall, 9926 is still a worthwhile version, interested users may wish to download and see!
