Abandon Windows Live brand in Win8

Microsoft said in a Windows 8 (hereinafter referred to as "Win8") development blog on Wednesday that the WindowsLive brand in the new system will be abolished.

The Windows Add-on Service Collection name "Windows Live Essentials" will also not appear in Win8, including Messenger, PhotoGallery, MovieMaker, Writer, LiveMesh, and FamilySafety. Other Windows Live services that are not part of Windows Live Essentials will also use simpler names such as Hotmail and SkyDrive.

In the Win8 system, a series of Windows Live services will be called "Applications". Microsoft previewed many of these applications in advance in the Win8 Consumer Preview released in February this year.

But the question is what service identifiers are faced by existing Windows users. They use Windows Vista or Win7 and use non-application or non-Win8 services. Microsoft seems to continue to support these users, but it is unclear when they will get new features. Microsoft executives are currently refusing to comment on the details of the program. They did not tell us when and how to revoke the WindowsLive brand.

Windows Live is a web service platform that provides various application services to terminals such as users' computers through the Internet. The content includes a variety of Internet-related application services such as personal website settings, email, VoIP, instant messaging, and retrieval.
