Enterprise users are very different, Microsoft tells a different Win8 application deployment

Win8 is not for playing, Microsoft has also created the Metro user interface for enterprise users. In the latest Windows Store official blog, Microsoft Arik Cohen writes about how companies publish and manage Metro applications in Win8.

Enterprises can distribute their Win8 Metro applications directly from the Windows Store, or create special channels for IT staff to distribute applications securely without the Windows Store certification process.

Developers can sell apps directly to business users, and then each user buys through the store; another way is to provide app downloads for free, then commercial assistance management and authorization. Apps can provide specific features to each user.

If an enterprise wants to publish an application outside of the Windows Store, IT staff is required to use the Windows App Certification Kit and then ensure that the application works as expected.

Windows 8 will open the store by default, users need to use a Microsoft account to access the Windows Store. IT administrators can use AppLocker-like tools to run or restrict applications from the store. In this way, users can access multiple applications in the store, but administrators also have access to restrict access.
