How to download window7 offline

When we are in a special LAN environment or if your network is temporarily experiencing problems and cannot connect to Microsoft's update server, Microsoft Security Essentials (MSE) will not automatically update and will pop up similar error messages like 0x80072EFE, 0x8024402F, etc.

In this case, in order to allow the MSE to be continuously updated to ensure system security, you can periodically download the virus database definition installation to update the MSE offline.

We can follow the steps below:

Check that the computer operating system is a few.

From the Start menu, right-click on “Computer” and select “Properties”. View the system type of your computer.

Download the virus database definition.

For 32-bit systems, please click here.

For a 64-bit system, please click here.

When the download dialog window pops up, click “Save” to save the file to the desktop.

Install the update.

Locate the virus definition file you just downloaded and right-click and select “Run as administrator”.

If the pop-up asks for password credentials or ask for confirmation, please enter your credentials or confirm to continue.

(If it is a Windows XP system, log in to an account with administrator privileges for file download, then double-click the file to install.)

Also, if you are using Microsoft Security Essentials (MSE) version 2.0.0375.0 or higher, you also need to download and install the network check system definition.

To open MSE, click the small triangle button next to “Help" and select “About Security Essentials> from the drop down menu to view the version.

Download Save Network Check System Definition.

Please click here to download and save the 32-bit applicable definition.

For 64-bit systems, please click here to download the definition.

After the download is saved, refer to step 3 above to run the file as an administrator or log in to the administrator account.

After the installation is complete, you can confirm the version and update time of the defined library in the MSE Update” tab.
