Windows Phone 7 is alleged to send back user location information without permission

Windows Phone 7 Prisoner Rafael Rivera recently wrote that the system's camera application collects user data without permission from the user. Rivera found that packets about the user's location were sent back to the agps.location.live.net and inference.location.live.net addresses of the Microsoft Location Inference Service.

The data sent back contains the OS version, the MAC address, the power level of the surrounding wireless access points, and the GUID identifier, so he accuses the company of illegally tracking customers.

Microsoft has not released an official statement on the matter, but a spokesman has responded to the news, saying that Microsoft's server does not have the ability to save the user's position, therefore there is no problem of data collection.
