Several ways to use the search function in Windows (2)

Search, you can also only pursue the fastest

With the few tricks just introduced, you can search for a lot of content that can't be found under the default settings, but the search speed is also reduced accordingly. If you only pursue the fastest search speed, you have to change your mindset. In the "Registry Editor", the values of CaseSensitive, IncludeSubFolders, SearchHidden, SearchSlowFiles, and SearchSystemDirs mentioned above are changed to 0, and the "PersistentHandler" item in the unnecessary file type sub-items under the [HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT] branch is deleted. Then, we should enable the indexing service. The index can help the system find the files containing the keyword content faster, which is much faster than reading the entire hard disk. To open the index, in the Windows XP search window, click "Change Preferences → Use Build Indexing Service" (see Figure 2), then select "Yes" and confirm that the system will automatically be in the idle state. Create an index file.

Tips

To use the indexing service in Windows, you must ensure that the operating system version is Windows 2000 and above. In addition, the Indexing Service service (service name: CiSvc) in the system must confirm that it is not set to "disabled".

When you select an index, you have to choose NTFS

Using an index can improve the search speed. At the same time, to maximize the efficiency of the index, you should choose the NTFS partition format. This is Windows 2000/The partition format recommended by XP and other systems can reduce the disk fragmentation generated during indexing, and the efficiency of reading and writing data is also high. In addition, the index database needs to account for 15% of the total size of the index file under NTFS, while using FAT32 partition. It takes a full 30%. NTFS saves space and improves efficiency. Why not? The system contains the method of lossless conversion FAT32 to NTFS, run CMD to open the "command prompt", enter the "convert C: /fs:ntfs" command and press Enter ("C:" is replaced with the drive letter to be converted, conversion system The disk needs to be restarted).

See through the "hiding" in the process of services

Many Trojans, malicious programs, etc. will register themselves as system services, and then rely on the system service process such as Svchost.exe. Each Svchost.exe process is loaded with several system services, but how can we know if they have been invaded by backdoor services? First click "Start → Run", enter "CMD" (without quotes) in the run input box and press Enter. Enter the following command in the command line window according to your system type:

Windows 2000: tlist -s

Windows XP: tasklist /svc

After executing this command, the services included in the process in the system will be listed. If the system process (such as svchost.exe) is found to be attached, BlackDoor and other backdoor services, then quickly kill the virus!

Open the Explorer's "Large Vision"

When browsing files, especially when viewing thumbnails of images, you definitely want a larger display area, at a glance than dragging the scroll bar More convenient. You can use full screen display when browsing web pages in IE. Can you use full screen display in "Explorer"? of course can!
