Do it yourself Create a different Windows XP

If you can't get used to Windows XP, you can use the tool software to change it to "look". If you don't use any tool software, can you make Windows XP look like it? I don’t dare to say that it’s OK to change a little bit. Here are two interesting and good ways. You can try it out and experience Windows XP different from before!

1. Make XP have iMAC style.

The following method can make your XP look a little iMAC style, it looks very elegant! Here is the specific method.

Click "Run" in the "Start" menu, enter regedit in the open "Run" dialog box, press the Enter key to open the Registry Editor, and then expand the registry to HKEY_CURRENT_USERControl PanelColors In the window on the right, find "ButtonHilight". After double-clicking, change the key value from 255 255 255 to 128 128 128 in the dialog box that appears (note that there are spaces between the numbers, the same below), and then find "ButtonShadow" ", change its key value from 172 168 153 to 255 255 255, and finally restart the computer to open several windows or text documents, you will find that XP really changes, a little bit of iMAC style! If you want XP Change more, just change the key value of other subkeys under Colors, but it is best to change one by one, then restart the computer to see if it meets your requirements, if not, change it back. Don't change it, or XP will become ugly!

If you are not familiar with the registry, you can open Notepad and enter the following:

Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

[HKEY_CURRENT_USERControl PanelColors]

"ButtonHilight"="128 128 128"

"ButtonShadow"="255 255 255"

Save as change. Reg file, then double-click the file to add the information in the file to the registry. Note that you have to press the Enter key twice after editing the last line, that is, add a blank line at the end.

Ok, let's try it, experience a new surprise!

2. Let you have the most advanced Windows XP SP3 in advance

Everyone knows that Microsoft Windows XP The latest version is SP2 (Service Pack 2), but I have a little trick here to let you have SP3 in advance! This will surprise your friends, and play SP3 first when SP3 has not been officially released. Is it fun to have a face?

Please click the "Start" menu, select "Run", click the "Run" dialog box, enter regedit and press Enter to open the Registry Editor. Then expand the registry to the recovery? HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESYSTEMCurrentControlSetControlWindowsCSDVersion, the key value of CSDVersion determines the service pack version number displayed in "System Properties". The default key value is 100 in hexadecimal or 256 in decimal (Figure 1), corresponding to SP1. If you change the key value of CSDVersion to a hexadecimal value of 200 (512 in decimal), after restarting the computer, we can "use" the SP2. At this point, please go to the registry HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESOFTWAREMicrosoftWindows NTCurrentVersionCSDVersion to see, you will find the string value CSDVersion key value automatically changed from Service Pack 1 to Service Pack 2! Originally, the two registry values are corresponding, After changing the location of a computer to be restarted, the corresponding change will occur. Think about it, what if we change the CSDVersion key value to hex 300? Smart, you must have thought of it! In this way, we can "own" Windows XP SP3 in advance, so much ahead of the time, when an IT leader! And so on, we can know, if you change the CSDVersion key value to ten In hexadecimal 400, you can "own" SP4, change the key value of CSDVersion to 500 and have SP5...
