Setting method:
1. Start the computer, press the Del key to enter the BIOS setup program, & ldquo; Advanced BIOS Features (Advanced BIOS Features) " Lieutenant "First Boot Device" setting to “CD-ROM”, change the first boot disk to "CD-ROM drive", save the BIOS settings , restart your computer.
2. Insert the Windows XP CD-ROM into your CD-ROM drive. After the system is booted from the CD-ROM drive, the installer will automatically detect the hardware configuration of the computer, extract the necessary installation files from the installation CD, and then display the interface that welcomes the installer. Press Enter to continue, the Windows license agreement appears, press F8 to accept the agreement. Then an interface showing the hard disk partition information will appear.
In this example, only one hard disk is configured in the current computer, and all the space of the hard disk is used as a partition, that is, system partition C. If the hard disk has never been zoned, you can skip the step of deleting the hard disk and create a new partition directly.
3. Move the cursor to the partition you want to delete. Press D to delete the partition according to the system prompt. The system will display a confirmation message. If you want to delete this partition, press Enter; if you want to discard the deletion. Operation, press ESC to cancel. Press Enter to confirm, it will enter the next interface. If you want to delete the partition, press L to confirm; if you want to abandon the delete operation, press ESC to return to the previous interface.
4. After the partition is successfully deleted, the system will automatically return to the partition list interface. In this example, the hard disk partitions have all been deleted, so only one "undivided space" in the partition list appears.
5. Let's create the first partition. Move the cursor to “Undivided space”, press C to create a new partition according to the system prompt, enter the size of the partition to be created at the cursor location, and press Enter to confirm, the partition is created successfully. Move the cursor to the “Undivided Space” section and repeat the step of creating the partition just to divide the subsequent partition.
6. According to the system prompt, move the cursor to the partition where you want to install the operating system, press Enter to confirm, and the system will display the option to format the partition.
7. Please select the appropriate option to format the partition according to your needs, move the cursor to the option that meets the requirements, press Enter to confirm and the system will enter the disk formatting interface. After the partition is formatted, the system will automatically enter the subsequent installation steps.
The above is the method of partitioning the disk during the WinXP system installation process. If there is a need or a user who is not clear about how to partition the disk, try this method.
