Optimize Windows XP Grouping Taskbar Buttons

  
The Windows XP Grouping Taskbar feature allows you to group the same or similar programs in a group so that users can select multiple program windows by clicking on a single window icon. By default, Windows XP will put the first open program in front. However, by adjusting the registry project, we can also optimize this combination.
If you open multiple applications frequently while using your computer, you should cherish the space on the taskbar. However, no matter how much you browse the web or use office software, it is inevitable to open multiple windows, which will make the Windows XP taskbar full. Now, Windows XP's grouping taskbar function can put the same or similar programs in a group, so that users can select multiple program windows by clicking a window icon. By default, Windows XP will put the first open program in front. However, by adjusting the registry project, we can also optimize this combination.
Run the Registry Editor, expand the [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\\SOFTWARE\\MICROSOFT\\Windows\\
CURRENTVERSION\\EXPLORER\\ADVANCED] branch, and click the "Edit → New → DWORD Value" command on the menu bar to the DWORD Name the value "TaskbarGroupSize", then double-click and change the DWord key:
0 - Windows XP will put the oldest open program in front.
1 - Windows XP will put the biggest program in front.
2 - Windows XP will group two or more windows of the same program.
3 - Windows XP will group three or more windows of the same program.
After setting up according to your needs, close the Registry Editor and restart your computer, the taskbar will be rearranged and grouped according to your requirements.
