Beginner's Guide: A New Use of Large Memory

As memory prices continue to fall, many new computer-packed friends have 512MB or more of memory. Such a large memory will naturally make the system run faster, but do you want to However, is there a way to completely "squeeze" the potential of memory? That is - create a virtual disk with memory space. (Click for more software tips)

Let's take the virtual disk function provided by Tweak XP as an example. After entering the main interface, select "RAM Disk Driver" under "System Performance" in the left navigation panel. Then, first set the size of the memory virtual disk under the right window "Ram Drive Setting". Generally, the maximum memory virtual disk allowed by the computer with 384MB memory is 256MB, you can set it as appropriate. Then specify a drive letter (such as U) for the memory virtual hard disk in "Choose a Drive-Letter for your RAM Disk Drive", and then click the "Install RAM Drive" button, the program will automatically guide the user to install the memory virtual disk, the installation is completed. You will need to restart your computer to take effect.

After installing the memory virtual disk, and then want to change the capacity and drive letter of the memory virtual disk, just click the Apply Setting button on the right side after setting to take effect. When we point the IE cache, TEMP and other temporary folders to the partition, we can obviously feel the speed of the system and all aspects faster. However, it needs to be noticed that since it is a virtual disk built in the memory, its data will not be saved to the real hard disk, and the data inside will be lost when the computer is turned off.
