How to install 2000 and XP with 98 boot disk!

It is recommended that no matter what system is installed, if possible, use a new installation
Start with 98. In order to improve the installation speed, it is strongly recommended to run "Smartdrv.exe" before installation (note: When making 98 disks, the SmartDrv file is generally not available. You can copy one to the boot disk in the 98 CD or the installed 98 system.
Procedure:
1. Insert the 2000 (XP) CD and insert the 98 boot disk. Start for A: disk
2, choose to bring the optical drive into DOS
3, Format c: (If you need to install many applications and do not want to reinstall the system often, it is recommended that c: preferably not lower than 3G, I use 5G )
4, run the SmartDrv on the boot disk (may need to run twice or more, until you can see the results on the screen, otherwise the process of copying files from the CD will be a nightmare, especially XP, a friend has created a copy of 8 hours of record)
5, go to the CD-ROM drive letter, enter the i386 directory of the 2000 CD, run winnt (XP is winnt under i386)
6, then follow the prompts to install ( It is recommended to use NTFS)
7, OK

The above methods are successfully installed on a variety of machines, the only failure is an IBM ThinkPad A21m notebook (after the multi-party raised 4 floppy disk production 2000 boot disk, successfully installed

When you don't have a 2000 or XP boot disk and unfortunately it is a non-bootable CD, you can use the above method. In case you really can't find only a few floppy disks, now the floppy disk is really not used. Good looking
