Another trick after losing the XP password

After losing the administrator password in win2000, it is a good idea to delete the SAM file to clear the password. But what if it is in XP? Many people on the Internet can't say it. I tried it, deleted and restarted to enter the login screen in real time, the system prompts: "Security account manager initialization failed", click "OK" and then restart. Is this method really not working in XP? Follow the steps below to make a conclusion.
Use the boot disk to enter DOS, enter: del c:\\windows\\system32\\config\\sam
copy c:\\windows\ epair\\sam c:\\windows\\system32\\config
After restarting , you can find that you can log in directly without entering a password. At this point, the account used for login is administrator, and there are only a few icons on the desktop (except for the original username). Fortunately, the installed software can be opened from the "program". If the original username is not administrator, it has not yet reached our goal. Enter "cmd" in the run and enter it at the command prompt (for example, the original username is fyland):
net user fyland /add
net localgroup administrators fyland /add (if it was previously a restricted user) You don't need this step).
Of course, these two steps can be set in the control panel, the specific method needless to say.
After restarting, select your original account to log in, then look at the desktop and set the project is the same as before? The final step is to set your own power-on password.
The most important thing about this method is that there is a backup SAM file under the repair file. If you delete it when optimizing the system, then I can only say: Sorry, let you see so much!
On October 17, the test was passed under FAT32 and WinXP SP1.
If it is NTFS format, you can try it with DOS for NTFS (98 installation disk)
2000 SP4 should also be no problem, you can try it yourself

There may be a problem here. If someone saves the SAM file somewhere else, and then puts it back after using your computer, it is hard to find out!
