Custom Win XP autoplay function

During the use of windows xp, by default, once the removable disk is connected to the computer (plug the CD into the CD-ROM drive, or plug in the USB disk, move the hard disk), the auto-play function of Windows XP reads the drive. After completion, a dialog box is displayed asking you to choose whether to open the video, audio, and image files. This automatic feature may not be what you don't need. If you want to turn it off, you can use this method:

1. Set the properties for the removable device.

Turn off the AutoPlay feature of a single mobile storage device by directly moving the storage device's property page to turn it off directly. (This requires the mobile storage device to already exist on the computer.)

1. Right-click on the mobile storage device in My Computer or Explorer that you want to turn off the autoplay feature. Select an attribute.
2, in the window that opens, click the "AutoPlay" tab, in the action box, select the radio box before "select an operation to execute", and then select "do not perform operations." Final confirmation".

This will no longer automatically open the folder.

Second, use Group Policy to disable Windows XP auto play function at one time:

If you want to disable Windows XP auto play all at once, you can use Group Policy.

1. Click “Start” to select “Run”, type “gpedit.msc”, and run to open the “Group Policy” window;

2. In the left column, “Local Computer Policy” "Under, open "Computer Configuration_Administrative Templates_System", then under the "Settings" heading in the right column, double-click "Close AutoPlay";

3. Select the "Settings" tab and tick " The "Reset" button is enabled, then select "All Drives" in the "Close AutoPlay" box and click the "OK" button to exit the "Group Policy" window.

You can also customize this "Automatically close" in "User Configuration". However, the settings in Computer Configuration are broader than the settings in User Configuration. Helps multiple users use such settings.

Reminder: The "Automatically Close Auto" setting is only for the system to no longer list the disc and mobile storage directories, and does not prevent the automatic playback of the music CD. To prevent automatic playback of music CDs, you only have to change the properties of your mobile device.
