FreeBSD shutdown restart command

Note: Freebsd shutdown or restart command can only be successfully executed by using the root user to log in. The normal user in SSH fails to execute. When the reboot or shutdown is performed, it will prompt “Shutdown: Permission denied”, which means that the shutdown permission is rejected by the system.

Step 1: Log in to the FreeBSD system using the root administrator on this machine.

Step 2: After successful login, directly “shutdown -p now” command and make sure that the FreeBSD system can be shut down.

Computer Repair Technology Network Note: The shutdown -p now command shuts down FreeBSD and turns off the power.

There is also a command for “shutdown -h now” is also FreeBSD shutdown, but does not turn off the power.

Step 1: Log in to the FreeBSD system using the root administrator on this machine.

Step 2: After successful login, execute “shutdown -r now” and make sure that the FreeBSD system can be restarted.
