Q) What is the difference between x3200 M2 and x3200?

A) The System x3200M2 is an alternative to the x3200. In terms of CPU, RAID, storage space, I/O and other performance improvements. The x3200 M2 is equipped with the latest dual-core and quad-core processors; it has the ability to install eight 2.5-inch hot-swappable SAS drives; Raid5 is supported by options; IPMI1.5 is upgraded to IPMI2.0; optional PCI- X expansion slot; DVD-ROM with the latest SATA interface.

A) The x3200M2 is targeted at small and medium-sized businesses, the retail industry, and affiliates.

Q) Can x3200 M2 do RAID?

A) It depends on the model. The x3200 M2 has a hot-swappable hard drive model and a simple-swap hard drive model.

The hot-swappable model uses the LSI1064e SAS/SATA controller and supports Raid0 and 1;

The pluggable model does not have Raid function and can be implemented by adding ServeRAID-BR10il. Raid0, 1, 1E, option number: 44X0411.

The x3200M2 hot-swappable model can be implemented by adding the ServeRAID?-MR10i SAS/SATA Controller to Raid5, option number 43W4296; and the ServeRAID-MR10i Battery battery option number 43W4299.

Q) Which type of hard disk does the x3200 M2 support? What is the maximum capacity of the hard disk?

A) Depending on the model, there are three types:

1. Hot Plug and pull 3.5-inch hard drive models: install up to four 3.5-inch hard drives. Can support SAS or SATA hot swap hard drives, but not mixed.

If you install a SATA hot-swappable hard drive, the maximum capacity is 750GBx4; if you install a SAS hot-swappable hard drive, the maximum capacity is 300GBx4.

2, hot swap 2.5-inch hard drive models: support up to 8 2.5-inch SAS hot-swappable hard drive, maximum capacity 146GBx8

3, easy to plug SATA models: support up to 4 Block 3.5-inch SATA easy-swap hard drive, the maximum capacity is 750GBx4

Q) How many memory slots does the x3200 M2 have? What are the requirements for extended memory?

A) x3200 M2 has 4 memory Slot. The factory configuration 1 or 2 memory, inserted in the slot1 and slot3 positions. Expand the memory in the following order:

As shown in the figure, when only one memory is installed, the working mode is non-interleaved. When expanding the memory, add in pairs, Slot1, 3 are a pair; slot2, 4 pairs; does not support the configuration of 3 memory.

Q) Does the x3200 M2 have a ps/2 keyboard and mouse interface? Is there a serial port and a parallel port?

A) The x3200 M2 does not have a PS/2 keyboard and mouse interface. There is 1 parallel port and 2 serial ports.

A) Support. The x3200 M2 can be built with a half-height tape drive. There is no need to purchase additional components for the fixed tape drive.

Q What interface is the x3200 M2 optical drive? Is there a floppy drive?

A) The x3200 M2 optical drive is a SATA interface. The standard does not have a floppy drive.

Q) Does the x3200 M2 have a PCI-X expansion slot? Is there a PCI expansion slot?

A) The x3200 M2 can provide one PCI-X expansion slot (requires PCI installation) -X enablement

Q) Is the x3200 M2 configured with several power supplies, redundant?

A) This depends on the model. Two configurations, one is a non-hot-swappable 400W power supply, which cannot be redundant; the other is a hot-swappable 430W power supply, which can be configured with two for redundancy.
