Achieve Win2000 patch quick installation

Now Windows 2000 system technology is more and more mature, the corresponding Server Pack has also been upgraded to version 4.0. At present, there are more than twenty patches for Windows 2000. If each patch is manually installed, the workload can be quite a lot. This article provides a brief introduction on how to quickly install patches.

For example, when installing SP4, the traditional installation method is very simple. Double-click the SP4 file name directly and follow the prompts step by step, but this is very troublesome. Here to introduce you to a more convenient method:

1. Click "Start → Run", enter CMD, switch to the command line mode.

2. Go to the directory where the SP4 file is located and enter "SP4 file name /?", the prompt of Figure 1 will appear.

Figure 1

This prompt lists all the parameter settings of the SP4 patch. Here we use "-U unattended mode" and input directly at the command line: "SP4 file name /U", the "SP4 file name" here refers to the actual name.

When installing patches such as KB828035 and KB828741, also switch to the command line mode and directly enter: "KB828035/?", you can get the parameter setting prompt. Here we select "-passive unattended mode, -norestart does not need to restart after installation", directly enter "KB828035 filename /passive /norestart" on the command line, here "KB828035 filename" refers to the actual name.

According to the method described above, write all the patches in a notebook, remember to add the corresponding parameters, as shown in Figure 2. Then save as a batch file, here named BD.BAT. When you use it, you can automatically patch all the patches by simply double-clicking on the BD.BAT file.
