Let Ghost automate

Although Ghost is an indispensable tool for many "old birds", for many junior computer users, it is still not easy to try, after all, it is a English software that can only be run under DOS, a little careless, the consequences may be "unforgettable." However, with the help of Ghost Go, I believe that any "novice" can easily use Ghost to backup and restore data, because it allows you to run Ghost automatically to complete the required operations!

The basic use of Ghost Go is to set the parameters from top to bottom in the interface. The operation goal is to back up the C disk data to the H:\\Ghost directory.

Click the button in "Select Ghost Main Program" to locate the path of "Ghost.exe". Note that it is best not to include Chinese in this path. Since you want to back up your data, you have to select the Make Image File option. The first drop-down box in "Select Target Partition" is used to determine the data to be backed up on the first few hard disks. Note that this refers to the physical hard disk, not the partition. If there is only one hard disk, select "1". The second drop-down box is used to determine the first partition in a hard disk. For a hard disk, the order is: C drive 1, D drive 2, and so on, for two or more hard drives. Pay attention to the impact of the drive letter interleaving. I only have one hard disk, so it should be set to "the first partition of the first hard disk." Set the Ghost image file save path and file name in the "target image file", set to "H:\\Ghost\\pwin98.gho" here. These points should be noted when setting: Do not save in the partition indicated by the previous "target partition". For example, in this example, you must not choose to save it in the C drive; be careful not to include Chinese in the file name and its path; If there are multiple hard drives, you should also pay attention to the impact of the drive letter interleaving.

Compression rate is recommended to select "quick compression". If you need to set a password for the backup file, check "Use password", please note that you cannot use Chinese as a password. The "auto-confirm" option is selected, otherwise full automation cannot be achieved. This option is to set the action after the Ghost operation is completed. It is recommended to select "return to the operating system" when backing up data, and it is recommended to select "restart the computer" when restoring data. In the "Save Batch File", select the save path of the automation operation command. It is recommended to save it in the same directory as the image file, such as "H:\\Ghost\\baifen.bat". Also note that the path and file name cannot contain Chinese characters.

Finally, click the "Generate Batch File" button to see a batch file named "beifen.bat" in the H:\\Ghost directory. To back up data, boot the system to pure DOS mode, enter the H:\\Ghost directory, run the baifen.bat command to automatically back up, and do not need any control in the middle.

If you want to restore data, you can also use Ghost Go to create automatic operation commands, the same method as above, just select the "Recover Partition Data" option when restoring.
