Important Tips
• To access the Windows Store and download and run the app, You need an Internet connection, a screen resolution of at least 1024 x 768, and a Microsoft account.
• After installing the preview, you will not be able to play DVDs using Windows Media Player.
• This preview version does not work on Windows RT 8.1 and Windows N versions.
• Preview is not available for Windows Phone.
• may prevent a few early 64-bit CPUs from installing this preview.
• It is best to use the mouse and keyboard to operate this preview. Future updates will add improvements to touch functionality.
• If you are running Windows 7 without SP1, you can only upgrade to the preview by downloading the ISO file. If you have Windows 7 SP1 installed, you can upgrade to the preview version by using Windows Update or by downloading the ISO file.
Language
Technology Preview is available in English, Chinese (Simplified) and Brazilian Portuguese.
Note
If you are running Windows 8.1, Windows 8, or Windows 7, and the system language is not English, Chinese (Simplified), and Brazilian Portuguese, you can only keep personal files when you upgrade. You will not be able to keep your app or Windows settings.
If you are running Windows 8.1, Windows 8, or Windows 7, and a language pack or language interface pack (LIP) is installed, it will be removed when you install the Technology Preview.
