Set up a wake-up goal for the Windows 7 folder navigation area

The Windows 7 Explorer is very different from XP. One of them is the default navigation pane on the left. It is displayed in a tree structure, allowing you to quickly locate a deeper folder. However, one less intimate point is that it does not clearly identify the current folder, but we can manually add a conspicuous logo to it.

Current Folders
Be prepared, you need to collect some transparent background icon files in .ico format and store them in a relatively fixed place.
Let's get started, first enter regedit in the start menu search box to start the registry editor;
locate under HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESOFTWAREMicrosoftWindowsCurrentVersionexplorerShell Icons;

Modify the registry
Note: If expanded Explorer did not find the Shell Icons, please right click on the explorer, "New" & rdquo; a & ldquo; item & rdquo;, rename it to "Shell Icons", pay attention to capitalization and spaces in the middle.
Then enter the right pane, right click to create a new "ld string; string value" and named "“4" (if this "does not exist"), and finally right click on "4"" Modify (M) & rdquo;, & ldquo; data value & quoquo; fill in the full path of the icon you want to transform, and then exit the registry editor.

Edit Key Values
Save the work you are doing on your hands, log out of the system and log back in, then open the Explorer to see if the selected folder icon has changed. There is a change in this place, look at the program folder in the Start menu, or start the Registry Editor.
