Step 3: Make advanced sharing settings
1. Right click on the network connection icon of the system tray, select [Open Network and Sharing Center], as shown below:
2. Remember the type of network you are in (the author is the working network), then in the pop-up window Click [Select Family Group and Sharing Options], as shown below:
3. Then click [Change Advanced Sharing Settings], as shown below:

Note: If it is a public network, the specific settings are similar to the above, but the corresponding options under [Public] should be set accordingly, instead of [Family or Work], as shown below:
< Br>Step 4: Set up the workgroup
Before adding the target printer, first make sure that the computers in the LAN are all in a working group. The specific process is as follows:
1. Click the [Start] button in the [Computer] 】 Right click, select [Properties], as shown below:
2. Find the working group in the pop-up window. If the working group settings of the computer are inconsistent, please click [Change Settings]; if they are consistent, you can exit directly. Skip to the fifth step.
Note: Please remember [computer name], the settings will be used later.
3. If you are in a different workgroup, you can set it in this window:
Note: This setting will not take effect after the restart, so don't forget to restart the computer after the setup is complete. For the settings to take effect.
Step 5: Add a target printer to other computers
Note: This step is performed on other computers in the LAN that need to share the printer. The process of this step in XP and Win7 system is similar. This article introduces Win7 as an example.
There are a variety of methods to add, and two of them are introduced here.
First of all, no matter which method is used, you should first enter [Control Panel], open the [Devices and Printers] window, and click [Add Printer], as shown below:
Next, select [Add Network, wireless or Bluetooth printer], click [Next], as shown below:
After clicking [Next], the system will automatically search for available printers.
If the previous steps are all set correctly, then as long as you wait patiently, the general system can find it, and then just follow the prompts step by step.
If you wait patiently after the system still can't find the printer you need, don't worry, you can also click [I need the printer not in the list], and then click [Next], as shown below.
If you don't have any patience, you can click [Stop], then click [I need a printer not in the list], then click [Next], as shown below:
Next There are many ways to set it up.
The first method:
1. Select [Browse Printer], click [Next], as shown below:
2. Find the computer connected to the printer, click [Select], as shown below :
3. Select the target printer (the printer name is the name set in the second step), click [Select], as shown below:
The next operation is relatively simple, the system will automatically Find and install the driver for this printer. At this point, the printer has been successfully added.
Second method:
1. In the [Add Printer] window, select [Select Shared Printer by Name] and enter "Computer Name Printer Name" (the computer name and printer are mentioned above). Unclear friends can view the second and fourth steps separately). If the previous settings are correct, a prompt will be given when the system is still entered (as shown below).
Then click [Next].
Note: If the system does not automatically give a prompt during this step, it is very likely that you will not be able to find the target printer by clicking [Next]. At this time, we can use “computer name>;“IP&rdquo To replace, as follows:
For example, the author's IP is 10.0.32.80, then you should enter “10.0.32.80Canon”. The method of viewing the system IP is as follows:
1.1 Click on the [Network] icon in the system tray, select [Open Network and Sharing Center], as shown below:
1.2 Found in [Network and Sharing Center] [Local Area Connection], click, as shown below:
1.3 Click [Details] in the [Local Area Connection Status] window that pops up, as shown below:
1.4 Red circle mark in the following picture The [IPv4 address] is the IP address of this machine.
2. Continue with the previous steps. As with the first method, the system will find the device and install the driver. The reader only needs to wait patiently (as shown below).
3. Then the system will give a prompt to tell the user that the printer has been successfully added, just click [Next], as shown below:
4. At this point, the printer has been added, if necessary The user can click [Print Test Page] to test whether the machine can work normally, or click [Finish] to exit this window, as shown below:
After successful addition, [Device] in [Control Panel] And the printer] window, you can see the newly added printer, as shown below:
At this point, the entire process has been completed, other methods not introduced (that is, using a TCP /IP address or host name to add a printer) It is relatively simple, the process is similar, and will not be repeated here.
If a friend can't succeed in the setting of the fourth step, it is very likely to be a problem with the protection software. You can set the protection software accordingly or close the protection software before trying to add it.
Finally, I hope this article will help readers and friends.
