Windows 7 system to build a disk partition method

"Windows 7 can not draw new hard disk space from the old partition, create a new disk partition", this is part of the "first feeling" directly from Windows XP to Windows 7 users. In fact, including the author, I also thought this way when I first came into contact with Windows 7 disk management.

In Windows 7, open disk management, click on a disk partition (do not recommend to create a new partition from the system disk), select "compressed volume" in the pop-up menu (Figure 1), A prompt box will pop up to inform the user that the system is getting space that can be compressed (Figure 2).

Figure 2

The message in Figure 2 says "Query volume to get available compressed space", in fact, the system is calculating the current partition. Large spaces can be split and let users create new disk partitions.

When the interface shown in Figure 3 appears (that is, the system calculates the size of the space that can be used to build a new partition), click the "Compress" button. Later, you will find that Windows 7 is marked with a new space in green (Figure 4).

As can be seen from Figure 4, the space for the new partition can be built is 91.6GB Right click on the mouse, and then in the pop-up new partition boot window, press the prompt information to complete the new disk partition work.

Comments:

Compared with Windows XP, Windows 7 changed the new partition in disk management to a new way. After learning this change, anyone can easily work under Windows 7. Create a new disk partition. If you want to merge the newly created partition with the previous partition (Figure 4), right-click on the previous partition, select "Extended Volume", and then press the system prompt to complete the operation.
