Microsoft: End of Windows XP SP2 support on July 13 next year

It is understood that with the release of Windows 7, the market share of Windows XP and Windows Vista is gradually lost, and most of the users are upgraded to the latest clients. According to data from Net Applications, Windows 7 has gained 5% market share, but Windows XP is still the world's hottest operating system with a market share of 69%, while Vista has a market share of 18.55%.

As time goes by, the Windows XP deadline has gradually approached, and Microsoft has begun to urge XP users to upgrade Windows 7. On July 13, 2010, Microsoft will completely terminate Windows XP SP2. stand by. In view of this, Microsoft also specifically provided a solution for upgrading to Windows 7 for Windows XP users.

Stephen L. Rose, senior community manager for Windows IT Professional Clients, said that on July 13, 2010, Microsoft will completely terminate support for Windows 2000 Server, Windows 2000 and Windows XP SP2. In response, Microsoft created a Terminal Support Solution Center to help Windows 2000 and XP users upgrade to Windows 7, Windows Server 2003, Windows Server 2008 or Windows Server 2008 R2.

Of course, for these Windows XP SP2 users, the best option is to upgrade to Windows7. For those "loyal fans" of Windows XP, they also have to perform upgrades, at least need to upgrade to Windows XP SP3, Microsoft will end "extended support" for Windows XP SP3 in 2014.

In addition, these Windows XP SP2 users can also upgrade to Windows Vista. Microsoft will end its "mainstream support" for Vista in 2012, and has not yet determined the specific time for "extended support." However, I recommend that these Windows XP SP2 users upgrade directly to Windows 7, which is the ideal upgrade option.
