Windows 7 system: WMPlayer 12 new features

Windows Media Player 12 interface is probably the most significant change, and the interface with Windows 7 has been very unified, relatively simpler than 11, the color is lighter.

Windows Media Player 12 is already playing the Now View and Music Library Library view modes. In Now Playing, include visual effects, playlists, music/video. In the Library, there is only music/video management operation.

The following picture shows the screenshot of the playing mode, in which the common playback control buttons are not changed much:

In addition to the two view modes that are playing Now Playing and Music Library, there are some very nice little features, such as 15 seconds when the mouse is over. Music preview; music, video, and photo categories are displayed on the left (11, only one of them can be displayed).

Windows Media Player 12 supports H.264 video, AAC audio, Xvid and DivX video, and formats already supported by Windows Media Player 11. This means that in Windows 7, we can basically play the mainstream format with Windows Media Player 12, without having to download the decoder separately.

Windows Media Player 12 also supports browsing the iTunes music library of other users on the local network, but Apple does not license its FairPlay DRM to third parties, so WMP 12 does not support DRM-protected iTunes content.

WMP 12 also adds a feature called Play To for HomeGroup that allows users to play multimedia content from their own computers on other computers in the HomeGroup.

Similarly, Play To also supports the Digital Living Network Alliance v1.5 device, which has similar functionality to the one described above, but if the device does not recognize the file format, WMP will automatically transcode it.

Similar to Windows Live Essentails, Windows Media Player is also an important product for Microsoft to enhance the Windows 7 user experience. Windows 7 has so far given a good impression.
