Windows7 low-level error: DirectX11 is recognized as 10.1

According to foreign media reports, Microsoft revealed that the default diagnostic tools included in Windows 7 may incorrectly report DirectX 11 devices as DirectX 10.1.

Microsoft said that the tool that went wrong in Windows 7 is the DirectX diagnostic tool. The misunderstanding of this tool is that it will misclassify the DirectX 11 device as a DirectX 10.1 device. At the same time, this tool will also have an impact on Windows Server 2008 R2, but this problem is not very serious and can be easily solved.

A Microsoft spokesperson said: "When you run the DirectX Diagnostics Tool (Dxdiag.exe) on a computer running Windows 7 or Windows Server 2008 R2, the diagnostic report will incorrectly judge the DirectX 11 device. For DirectX 10.1 devices. In general, this incorrect version information will be displayed in the DDI field of the Display tab."

Finally, Microsoft pointed out that the error in this DirectX diagnostic tool problem is mainly in the report. This does not affect the graphics card functionality of DirectX 11 hardware or software.

At present, Microsoft has released a patch for this error, and users can get a solution through Microsoft Support. However, only users affected by this problem will be able to apply to this solution, and Windows 7 and Windows Server 2008 R2 users who are not affected by this problem can only wait until Microsoft releases the first security update (Windows 7 SP1). Get this fix.

In the evolution from Windows Vista to Windows 7, Microsoft has improved a series of graphical interface technologies, including DirectX 11 as the default component of Windows 7. Currently, Vista SP2 also includes DirectX 11.
