Digitimes reported on Wednesday, industry sources said that notebook manufacturers plan to use ultra-touch screens to adapt to the new features of Windows 8 operating system, regain market share from tablet PCs . According to sources, LCD panel and touch module manufacturers have begun to provide samples to notebook manufacturers. Backlight module manufacturers are also beginning to deploy components such as light guides and light films on top of laptops to reduce the thickness of ultrabooks. According to the source, shipments of the Acer Aspire S3 and ASUS Zenbook have now reached market expectations. Wistron's Aspire S3 shipments have reached 200,000 to 210,000 units by the end of November, and the combined Genbook shipments of Heshuo are expected to exceed 150,000 to 170,000 by the end of the year.
