How to solve the problem that Win8 system plays web video without sound

Sometimes you may encounter this situation: the media application has sound, the system sound settings are normal, but the web video has no sound. The main reason for this may be that you have optimized the system or have problems with the associated audio and video decoding.

Operation steps

Under normal circumstances, the corresponding registry will display the following figure.

But if there is a problem with optimization or audio and video decoding, the following registry situation may occur.

The registry path is: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\\SOFTWARE\\Microsoft\\Windows
NT\\CurrentVersion\\Drivers32 causes no sound on the webpage video mainly because the item is missing a value , we can add this value manually. Right-click to create a new selection string value.

Rename the newly added string value to wavemapper.

Then double-click the value, fill in the value data data field msacm32.drv and click OK. After successful addition, open the webpage video to hear the sound normally.
