How to solve the problem displayed by WP8.1 mobile phone contact

A lot of users in the new WP8.1/WP8 and other smart phones, after entering the contact list will find some contacts with longer names are “ Cutting & rdquo;: The phone can only display the first few characters of the name. So, how can we avoid the display problem of the contact name length?

The full name of the contact cannot be displayed (it will be truncated after more than 6 Chinese characters). It is not a problem with the WP8.1 phone, but a limitation of the SIM card. Many users are also accustomed to saving all contacts in the SIM card, so that you can use the SIM card directly when you change the phone. However, the SIM card has a character limit on the length of the contact name, so if you don't want to find the contact name is not complete and can't find someone, just save the contact on your phone.

For WP8.1 mobile phones, the default save path for mobile phones is the Microsoft account (mobile phone local), and the contact name can be displayed perfectly (Figure 1). However, for existing contacts of the SIM card, it is recommended to first import the SIM card contacts to the local phone through the “Import from SIM card” function (Fig. 2), and then add the contacts whose names are incomplete. Then go to “Filter Contact List”, do not display the contacts in the SIM card, avoid local and SIM card contacts to repeat display.

Small Tips

This article also applies to Android phones. Only the Android system provides the option of saving the phone to the local or SIM card when creating a new contact, which is more user-friendly. And we can directly back up contacts to the cloud through third-party apps such as WeChat, even if we change the phone and SIM card, we can recover data directly from the cloud, which is safer and simpler than SIM backup.
