1. Under WINDOWS 7, first extract the CD image of WINDOWS XP to E:XPSP3, assuming WIN7 is in C drive, XP will be installed. To the D drive (can also be installed to the C drive, but Tianyuan does not recommend this, then the entire system management will be very confusing), the installation file is extracted in the E drive, the partition format is FAT or NTFS. Record the XP installation key on paper first.

2. Restart the machine, press F8 to enter the repair mode of WINDOWS 7, select keyboard —— enter the administrator password —— restore option interface, select the bottom command line mode.

3, enter the E disk in the command window (command: cd E:), and then enter the xpsp3 and i386 directory, the final path should be E: xpsp3i386, then enter winnt32, press Enter to run XP installation program.

4, enter the XP installation interface, and choose a new installation, click Next

5, accept the agreement license, click Next

6, enter the installation key, Click Next

7, this step is the most important installation option, select the advanced option in the interface will pop up, select “ I want to choose the installation drive letter and disk partition during the installation process, if not Check this option, then you can only install to the WIN7 directory after restarting again, you can not choose to install to the D drive. After selecting, click OK, select the Chinese language and go to the next step.

8, start copying files, will automatically return to the command line mode after completion, close the command line window, click to restart the machine.

9, after restarting, there is already XP installation boot menu, after selection, it will enter the XP installation, select D drive to start installation.

Special Note:

1. In the XP installation path selection, if you choose C drive, because the C drive already has WIN7, even if you want to install the C drive, you must put the WINDOWS path. Changed or overwritten, Tianyuan measured is unable to remove the C partition from the new installation of XP.

2, Tianyuan also tested the C drive format in the command line window, but can not enter the XP installation menu after restarting again, because the XP installation menu or WIN7 take over, so the C drive once Formatted under the command line, the C drive system is broken, it may be because XP's WINDOWS interface installation mode does not rewrite the boot area.

The following Tianyuan uses MAXDOS as an example to demonstrate how to install WINDOWS XP on WINDOWS 7. Of course, other DOS toolboxes can be used, but the ideal one is still expected to take over the GRUB boot of the boot menu.

The following process is a bit complicated. If the operation is not good, the machine will not start. If the partition is deleted incorrectly, the data will be lost, and the operation will be done with care.

1. After downloading MaxDOS7, install it on WIN7 (if the report does not support windows 7, please set it to VISTA in the attribute —— compatibility, then double-click to install)

2 XP disk image is extracted to D: XPSP3, you can use UltraISO or WINRAR to extract. If your D disk is NTFS format, it is best to use the D disk in FAT32 format for insurance purposes. Yes, but in case of error in the partition processing or XP copy file process, then restarting the system may again enter the XP installation. If it is NTFS, it may not be so convenient.

3, MAXDOS has been installed, XP has also been extracted to D: XPSP3

4, restart the machine, enter the MAXDOS menu, if you can not enter MAXDOS if you report the error, please restart into WIN7 Execute the CMD command line under administrator privileges, and execute them in sequence:

The identifier of the upper sentence is The GUID of MAXDOS can be seen by running bcdedit directly, and then copy it with the mouse. You don't need this if you can boot into MAXDOS.

5, start into Maxdos 7, choose to run Maxdos 7.

7, because the partition to install WINDOWS 7 is definitely NTFS, currently can not directly format NTFS partition in DOS, so rely on the deletion of DISKGEN to create a FAT partition

6, in A :> Enter the diskgen at the prompt to enter the running window, select the NTFS partition corresponding to the WINDOWS 7 system (usually the first partition of the C drive, if there are hidden partitions, be careful not to choose the wrong, according to the size of the capacity You can judge whether it is a system disk), then press ALT+P to enter the DISKGEN menu, select Delete Partition (F6), confirm and delete.

7, press ALT+P, select the new partition, enter the partition size, the default will include the size of the free partition, you can directly enter.

8. Activate the newly created partition. The method is to select the active partition in ALT+P. After the activation, the title of the partition will turn red. If you choose to activate again, it will be restored. Note that you only need to select it once. Yes, if you do not activate the installation of XP will definitely crash, and restart again will report disk I /O errors and so on.

9, ALT + D choose to save.

10, ALT + P, choose to format the FAT partition, after formatting, you will be prompted for disk surface detection, select No.

11, ALT + D choose to quit, there will be several options, be sure to choose to only exit, do not restart

12, back to the DOS command prompt, enter again Smartdrv, and hit enter.

13. A:>ntfsdos and press Enter to load the NTFS partition. If the D drive is already a FAT partition, it is not needed.

14, enter the XPSP3I386 directory of the D drive in turn, execute winnt.exe, you can enter the XP installation file copy interface, and wait for the copy to complete, restart the machine again to start installing XP.

1, why must delete the WINDOWS 7 partition under DOS, because the Tianyuan is measured During the installation process, if you directly perform XP installation, XP installation under DOS needs to rewrite the boot. 2, DISKGEN delete partition, format partition must not be restarted first, otherwise there is no bootable system and DOS menu, C disk data has been formatted.

3, Tianyuan in the actual measurement process also appears in the phenomenon of copying the crash, but after rebooting can still enter the XP installation interface, but the file is incomplete, you can still enter the console repair mode, so the day The reason is that if the D drive is in FAT32 format, there is still a chance to win when you reboot into the console.
