How to create a VHD file in Windows 7? There are two methods, one is pure command line mode, and the other is graphical interface operation. Right-click on the Start menu or the computer on the desktop and select “Manage” to enter the "Computer Management" window;

Select “Storage”- in the list on the left. “Disk Management”, then right click and select “Create VHD”;

Then you will see a “Create and Attach Virtual Disk” window where you need to set the location of the VHD file. And the size of the capacity, confirm it is correct and click OK.

Note: When selecting "virtual hard disk format", unless your hard disk space is very tight, dynamic expansion is not recommended.

After a while, the virtual hard disk is created. At this time, you can see the new virtual hard disk in Disk Management: Disk 1;

But this new disk 1 has not initialized and allocated the volume, can not be used, so the next initialization work: right click on disk 1, select “ initialize the disk & rdquo;;

After the initialization is complete, you need to create a new one for this partition Volume, right-click on the partition section, select “New Simple Volume", follow the wizard and click “Next”

After initializing and allocating the volume, the entire creation work is completed. You can use this VHD as a normal disk partition.

If you don't need it after a while, it's easy to remove. Also enter "Disk Management", right click on Disk 1, select "Separate VHD", and click on the window that pops up. OK & rdquo;

Note: If you delete the delete virtual hard disk file after deleting the disk, the data you saved in the virtual hard disk space will disappear unless you are sure that it is no longer needed.
