Help Win7 system to identify new solutions for aging optical drive

The Win7 system in the system world is the largest user group. As a system that occupies half of the system world, there are still some problems. For example, we are unable to identify some old CD-ROM problems today. In response to this problem, Microsoft, as her master, explained that it was because of the new power management function of SATA driver (Msahci.sys) Adaptive Link Power Management (ALPM), which caused some optical drive ALPM functions to be enabled and executed. It works fine and causes the computer to be unable to recognize the old DVD drive. Although there is an explanation, there is no way to deal with it. Therefore, the masters have dispatched and explored two solutions to solve.

Scenario 1:

Open the Registry Editor and navigate to [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/SYSTEM/Current ControlSet/Control/Class/{4D36E965-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}] directly. Delete the “Upperfilter” and “Loweverfilter” items and restart your computer.

Description: This method may cause some programs to malfunction after deleting the two key values. For example, the CD burning program may not be usable. Usually, just reinstall the latest version of the program to solve the problem.

Scenario 2:

Open a Command Prompt window with administrator privileges and enter the following command "bcdedit /set loadoptions DDISABLE_INTEGRITY_CHECKS" (without the outer quotes), which will be resolved after successful execution.

Both solutions can solve the problem that the computer can't identify the CD-ROM drive, but the two solutions are easier to operate and can avoid the risk of modifying the registry. The scenario requires a backup of the registry before the operation. Therefore, Xiaobian prefers to use the second option.
