What should I do if the Win7 desktop shortcut icon is the same?

The shortcut on the Win7 desktop icon corresponds to its unique installation path. If the original installation location of the program is changed, it may cause the shortcut on the desktop to fail to open, especially when some cleaning tools are wrong. The operation causes all the shortcuts on the desktop to be unusable and becomes the same icon. How to deal with this situation?

Solution:

1. By combination Key <;Win+R” call up the run command box, type regedit.exe in the "Open" column, press Enter, open the Registry Editor. (This part involves changing the registry, before operation please make a backup of related items)

(If the User Account Control pop-up window, allow to continue)

2. In the open Registry Editor, navigate to the HKEY_CURRENT_USERSOFTWAREMICROSOFTWINDOWS currentversionExplorerFileExts.lnk path. (As shown in the figure below) I think that all the items except openwithlist and openwithprogids will be deleted.

3. Expand openwithlist respectively and openwithprogids. In the detail window on the right, delete all key values except the default key.

Logout registry upon completion.
