The reason for the 0x800F0A12 error code:

The 0x800F0A12 error occurred. The SP1 installer determined that the current system partition could not directly start Windows 7, thus interrupting the installation. (Microsoft official instructions are that the installation program failed to access the system partition to update the necessary files)

There is a fix for the 0x800F0A12 error code. 1. Enter "compmgmt.msc" in the start search box to open the computer. Management interface, select Storage - Disk Management, check whether the partition where Windows 7 is located contains the "active" attribute, if not, right click on the partition and select "Mark partition as active partition".

2, after closing, close the computer management window and other applications, start running Windows 7 SP1 installer or update online directly through Windows Update, this error should not occur again. After the SP1 is fully installed, the original active partition can be reset to active status (if needed) via DISKPART.
