How to enable the keypad numeric lock by default in the Win7 login screen?

When logging in to Windows 7, Windows 8, Windows 8.1, and Windows 10, we may encounter a password input box that is not digitally locked by default on the login screen. At this point we need to manually turn on the numeric lock on the keypad, which is a bit of a hassle.

How to enable the keypad digital lock by default in the Win7/Win8.1/Win10 login screen?

There are two ways to achieve this. The first operation is more convenient. Just open the digital lock manually on the login screen, then click the shutdown option in the lower right corner and select Restart. After the login interface is reached, the digital lock is enabled by default.

If this method does not work, you need to set it in the registry. Prior to this, you can use the soft media Rubik's cleanup master (click to download) to back up the registry.

The specific method is as follows:

1. Enter "<regedit" in the run and press Enter to open the registry editor

2. Locate HKEY_USERS.DEFAULTControl PanelKeyboard< Br>

3. Select InitialKeyboardIndicators and change its value data to 2(Win7)/80000002(Win8/Win8.1/Win10)

4. After confirming, restart

For the meaning of the numeric data of InitialKeyboardIndicators, please refer to the following table:

Note: In Win8/Win8.1/Win10, the value of “" value" should be changed to 8000000x, “x” “Value”. The single digit value is used directly in Win7.

You can make the necessary changes as needed according to the meaning of the values in the above table. If you want to restore the previous default settings, just change the value data of InitialKeyboardIndicators to 0, or use the soft media Rubik's Cleanup Master (click to download) to restore the registry.
