Note: The Group Policy feature is only available in Win7 Professional, Ultimate and Enterprise editions.

First, streamline system functions

Win7 is very powerful and considerate. It comes with many useful functions, such as system restore function and burning function. The former can quickly restore the system to "before accident". The state of the latter makes it easy to burn a disc. However, due to the difference in computer configuration and user needs, sometimes it is necessary to turn off some of the system's own functions, so that the computer runs faster!

Disable the built-in burning to make the operation more in line with my heart

Win7 has integrated the recording function, the function is not weak, and the operation is convenient. However, this feature is not perfect, as long as the recorder is connected, Windows Explorer will be on standby, which will undoubtedly affect system performance and resource manager execution speed. In addition, after all, it is not professional burning software, and the function and flexibility are naturally limited. Therefore, for users with higher requirements for burning, you can consider disabling.

Click User Configuration→Administrative Templates→Windows Components→Windows Explorer to enter “Delete CD Burning Function” and enable this policy.

Tip: If this setting is enabled, all features that allow the recorder to be used in Windows Explorer will be invalid. Of course, this setting will not prevent users from using a third-party application to burn a disc using a recorder.

Disable System Restore Save System Resources

Although Win7's system restore function is very powerful, it can be easily restored to the state before the "error" with a click of the mouse. However, system restores take up disk space, especially the longer it takes to use, the more space it takes, so for computers that are not well-configured, consider disabling this feature.

Click "Computer Configuration→Administrative Templates→System→System Restore" to enter "Close System Restore" and enable this policy. Alternatively, you can turn off System Restore in the Control Panel.

A special reminder is that if your configuration is high, try not to disable the restore function. Only if the configuration is low, especially if the hard disk space is limited, you should consider turning off the system restore or making a backup and then disable the function.

Second, remove annoying tips

Using a computer, there will always be some error prompts or inexplicable prompts, such as: when the system is shut down, the prompt update is in progress, but the user has to leave immediately; During the operation, a prompt window such as “send error report” suddenly pops up; it is uncomfortable to suddenly jump out of the screen saver when watching the video! If so, let Group Policy help and clear all these annoying prompts. !

Shutdown does not hesitate to update next time

Once the user starts automatic update, the system will install the update and then shut down before each shutdown. If you like manual update, you can cancel this setting. .

Click "Computer Configuration→Management Modules→Windows Components→Windows Update" to enter "Do not display the installation update and shut down in the 'Close Windows' dialog box" and enable this policy.

Tip: If this policy setting is enabled, the option "Install update and shutdown" will not appear even if the user has an update to install when the user selects the shutdown option in the Start menu. After starting this policy, after the shutdown, the downloaded system update files will not be deleted automatically, and will not be lost. The downloaded files are also stored in the system directory. You can install the updates at any time in the future, which is more reasonable.
